Endangered Wildlife Art, Mexican Gray Wolf Painting by Theresa Paden

Endangered Wildlife Art
Mexican Gray Wolf Painting
By Theresa Paden

20 x 20"
Painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas with 1.5" deep edges.
I continued the painting onto the edges so it can be hung framed or unframed.

I'm donating 10% of the sale of this painting to the Wolf Conservation Center.

The Mexican gray wolf or “lobo” is the most genetically distinct lineage
of gray wolves in the Western Hemisphere, and one of the most
endangered mammals in North America. By the mid-1980s, hunting, trapping,
and poisoning caused the extinction of lobos in the wild, with only
a handful remaining in captivity. In 1998 the wolves were reintroduced into the wild
as part of a federal reintroduction program under the Endangered Species Act.
Today in the U.S., there is a single wild population comprising only 114 individuals -
a slight increase from the 113 counted at the end of 2016.

Treetop Rascals..Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

This pastel is done on black velour paper.

I rarely use black paper, although the drama of it speaks for itself.

However, it is extremely difficult to get the lights and darks to read on this surface, especially with VELOUR PAPER.

The subject is of Lorikeets or as they are called in Australia, LORRIES..

Little imps which fly all over the eastern regions of Australia and are forever present in the treetops, calling to one another. The colors are truly amazing!

I hope I did them justice here.

This pastel is unframed and measures 9" x 15".
$155 plus S/H

Whirling Dervish.Semi-Abstract......Pastel..Texas Artist..Rae Andrews

I began this with a pour of watercolor and acrylics on an Ampersand board.
At the time of the pour, I had no idea what I wanted to paint, so I decided to just play with the liquid media.

When it naturally dried, I began to wade through my photos, and decided to use KOI as my muse having watched and photographed tons of these fish on Maui on my last trip there.

I used my pastel pencil to draw the shapes into the painted areas, and then proceeded to overlay my pastels to retrieve the fish.

This is a large painting, 24" x 36" and is unframed. I hope you like it..

$500 Plus S/H ( contiguous USA. only).

Polar Bear — original wildlfe painting by Texas artist RG Pettit

Polar Bear is the latest in a series of paintings of endangered animals by RG Pettit. These beautiful and powerful marine mammals aren't endangered yet, but are considered threatened, due to ongoing and potential loss of their sea ice habitat resulting from climate change. I love the live tundra buggy cam videos of polar bear migration on explore.org. Seeing them in their own habitat instead of a zoo is magical.

This piece is 10" x 10" oil on linen. To see the other paintings in this series, visit www.RGPettit.com.

Blue Crab

© AnnHoffpauir

                                                          Blue Crab

The painting, Blue Crab, started out as a class demonstration. Well, I kinda liked it more than I thought. After the class, I worked on it some more and tweaked it here and there. The lil sucker looks like it can reach out and pinch ya! My students and I had a really fun time painting "BLUE CRAB".

The painting is a watercolor using a red, yellow and blue. If interested in this little painting, which would look great in a beach house or another fun setting, you can contact me at ahoffpauir26@yahoo.com or ahoffpauir26@gmail.com.
