This orchid is a Paphiopedilum, often called the Venus slipper. It is a genus of the Lady slipper orchid and has the most unusual waxy flowers. Many orchids are found high in the tree canopy but the Paphiopedilum is a terrestrial orchid is found on the forest floor. This orchid is the Paph.rothschildianum.
