On the Lookout by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"On the Lookout" Baltimore Orioles by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer. An original oil painting on a gallery wrapped, stretched canvas (all sides painted) size 16" x 20" x 1.5". What a wonderful experience I had painting these beautiful birds. Many thanks to Larry Ditto for his written permission to use one of his many bird photos I added in to this painting.Larry has been a nature photographer for over 3 decades, with his focus on South Texas and Northeast Mexico, with photos appearing in National Geographic books, Field & Stream, Natural History, Sports Afield and other magazines for many years. Audubon calendars, Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine, National Wildlife, and Texas Highways regularly feature his work.

"American Goldfinch" by Astrid Paustian

Oil on archival board, 7" x 5", $125.-
The Goldfinches have returned to our yard for their annual feast on our red sunflowers.
I was lucky enough to get a photo of this little guy yesterday morning, and had to paint him right away. I do enjoy watching these beautiful birds as they perform their acrobatics, swaying on top of the heavy sunflower blossoms to extract the seeds. It takes the young goldfinches a few days to learn this skill, under loud protest, since it is so much easier to be fed by their parents.
