Bird Oil Painting "The Perfect Perch II" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

FRESH OFF THE EASEL....

Birds bring a lot of enjoyment to human beings! It is exciting to see them at the bird feeder in my garden! In the southern portion of the United States we often see the Robin. A chubby little Robin outside my art studio is the inspiration for my wildlife oil painting on canvas titled "The Perfect Perch". The vertical orientation of the canvas in "The Perfect Perch" gives you a feeling of being outdoors, looking up into the trees at the precious bird!

Bird Oil Painting "Winged Friends" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

FRESH OFF THE EASEL....

My choice of wildlife to paint is birds! We southerners enjoy a variety of winged friends at the bird feeders in our gardens ! The south has such a variety of beautiful birds to bring enjoyment to our lives!  Winged Friends" , a wildlife oil painting on canvas is inspired by my love of these sweet little creatures! If you buy a bird feeder and start watching them feed, you will instantly be hooked!

Spoonbills, 18x24 Oil Painting by Carmen Beecher

Spoonbills
These were two of an enormous crowd of birds at Mrazek Pond in the Everglades. I saw every bird I could think of except flamingos, plus a flock of photographers with some very serious, large lenses. I suppose some were professional photographers and some were "Birders." Bird is now a verb, you know; I have a theory about that: the term "Birdwatching" brings to mind pith helmets, khaki shorts and binoculars, kind of a goober look, whereas today's Birders are vigorous people with Tilley hats and cameras with gigantic lenses.

A Lot of Bull by Wildlife Artist Sandra Reeves Cutrer

"A Lot of Bull" is an original painting of an African Watusi. Painted in oils on a large 24" x 30" x 1.25" stretched gallery-wrapped canvas. The continuing of the painting on all sides makes this piece great for hanging unframed.

Watusi were brought over to America in the 1960s when Mr. W. Schultz imported two bulls from Scandinavia and a female from Europe. Although these magnificent animals were once on the list of endangered animals, efforts of private breeders, zoos, and associations have made it possible to remove them from that list.
